There are two big parties coming to the South Florida/Miami area before the end of winter.  Both of them are hot winter parties.  One is the electronic music conference and the other is the Winter Music Party Festival which is more of a circuit event.  Both events feature the hottest DJ’s and will offer you a preview of what the club sounds of 2007 shall be.

The Winter Music Conference will be held this year from February 28 – March 5^th.  Entertainers include DJ Kimberly S, DJ Kate Monroe, DJ Roland Belmares, DJ Joe Gauthreaux, DJ Manny Lehman and many others.  Other entertainers include comedians such as Michele Balan, ANT, and Leslie Jordan.  It looks to be an outside event on the beach maybe similar to the Typhoon Lagoon party on Gay Days week in Orlando.

You can party and feel good about giving back to the community at the same time.  This beach dance party and cultural festival benefits the Miami-Dade lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.

The early bird special for the Winter Party ends on January 20^th but you can purchase tickets at WinterParty.com up until a few days to the event.  You may not want to miss the closing party which is at Club Twilo with DJ Abel.  I am not a big fan of the non-vocal beats of DJ Abel but I have heard great things of Club Twilo in Miami.  There are also other nights at Club Twilo as part of this festival.

There will also be other great events besides partying on the beautiful Florida beaches and clubs.  There are scheduled tennis tournaments, golf classic, swimming meets, and pool parties.  It sounds like we need to hit the gym before this party takes off.

Hustlaball 2007 was definately a blast. We did not make it to the pool party since it was shut down by the ATF or police. I have heard several rumors on this and not sure the real cause for the pool party to be shut down. It was too cold to be out running around in skimpy outfits anyway.

There were many hotties at the Hustlaball event as you can imagine. Brent Corrigan, Josh Vaughn (pictured below in a pose like they are making out), Pierre Fitch, and Ralph Woods (pictured below) are some of the hot twink stars to name a few. There were also celebrities including dj and porn producer Chi Chi La Rue and comedian Bruce Vilanch. The entertainers were Raven O and some others that I was not familiar with but enjoyed watching their backup dancers.

We suffered through a cold front that took us by surprise but there were also some wonderful surprises we did not expect. Chi Chi La Rue did a fabulous job spinning at the Skin Trade party where she promoted her Channel 1 Releasing on Thursday night before the Hustlaball party. It was my first time to hear her spin and I loved it. Britney Spears even made an appearance at the closing party. It was definately the best event so far this year.

You have probably heard of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton spotted at nightclubs lately but now the diva has been spotted twice this week at gay clubs.  The GayVN expo and Hustlaball had their final party tonight at Piranha Nightclub in Vegas and Britney Spears walked in to shock everyone.  We have heard from Krave nightclub she was originally supposed to go there but decided to make an appearance at Piranha where she partied it up in V.I.P. Cabana number two.  The security escorted her around everywhere so we could not even get a picture.  Which everyone should let her party without all the hassle anyway.

We were happy to see Britney come out and party at Club Piranha tonight and hope she comes out again.  It certainly made everyones night.  She was also spotted at Club Tigerheat last Thursday night in Los Angeles.  Piranha nightclub and 8 1/2 also had an appearance from Janet Jackson last month.  This seems to be the new place in Vegas for celebrities to be seen.

The Gaypartyblog will be at Hustlaball this year.  I will be attending with my gay twink friends from Boizone and Dean Berkeley.

This will be our second year at the hella fun Hustlaball event this year.  We are excited since we will be staying in the host hotel at Alexis Park Suites (alexispark.com) next door to all the gay clubs in Las Vegas or the fruity gay strip as they call it.  We will also be attending the following events:

Other things going on in Vegas for the porn expos include the AVN, GAYVN Expo at the Sands Expo Center and the Internext Expo 2007.

If you are coming in Vegas for these events there are some shows you must see:  KA at MGM and Phantom at Venetian.

I spent New Years in the beautiful city of Los Angeles to bring in 2007 while attending the Pam Ann comedy show then visited Rage nightclub for the final new year’s countdown but there was a major disappointment. I was supposed to attend the event I had VIP passes until I found out it was downtown with DJ Ralph Rosario called Last Dance. I heard about an event a go-go dancer friend of mine told me about to be held at Avalon. I went to Avalon paid for a $100 Vip pass because I heard that Kristine W would be there. There would also be Nemisis, Ana Kokalot, and DJ Tracy Young (who Madonna adores). Tracy Young did a fabulous job along with DJ Joe Gauthreaux and so did Kristene W.

SO what went wrong with the John Brady event at Avalon in Hollywood? First of all the crowd was much lower than anticipated. They did not even have the upstairs open because they wanted the room to look filled. The VIP area was closed early even after I paid $100 for VIP. The entire event seemed very unorganized but I will say they had some hot bartenders to make up for it.

Kristine W took stage and you could not hear her vocals at all. They had some annoying drummer banging some circuit beat that was louder than her and the circuit music was overpowering her vocals as well. I just wanted to scream it sounded so horrible. I felt so sorry for Kristine W because she probably did not know it sounded so bad what they did to her voice.

The Nemisis performance was even worse. Their vocals sounded like they were in a basement screaming outwards. I am not sure what happened but I hope the other John Brady events turn out better than that. I do not plan on attending another John Brady engagement.

I was also disappointed in the RAGE countdown for new years on one song. the number one song RAGE had for 2006 was from Shakira?!?! What is up with a Shakira 2005 song being #1 in 2006? I did not get to hear Tigerheat’s countdown since I was too drunk to notice so no complaints there!

Badlands #1 San Francisco Gay Club

This is where the party seems to be every night in San Francisco.  I was in San Francisco over the holidays and it was packed with people every single night.  Badlands had great music and a cute little dance floor.  The bar/club is way congested but it is a place to be if you want to socialize in San Francisco.  Badlands is definitely the best place to go for dancing in the Castro since there is nothing better in terms of size of a dancefloor or music that I noticed in the area.

The Boy Bar Night @ The Bar:

This is a night where they have younger dancers on stage at the bar off of Market and Castro next door to Subway.  The boy bar night is held on Thursdays.

The Café - is the really red looking club you see on the Castro.  I wouldn’t call this small place a club it is more of a room with a small hallway like dancefloor and a patio for smokers.  The Café is very trendy and seems to be mixed with some straight people as well as gays.

Friday Nights (after 11pm or so) and Sunday Mornings –

EndUp (401 Sixth Street @ Harrison) – the EndUp looked scary from the outside and kind of scary on the inside and had a jacked up dancefloor which seems like you are dancing inside someone’s attic.  The EndUp had a really cool outside patio and a few rooms to venture into.  I would not take any party favors to the EndUp they have someone at the front door asking what every little thing in your pockets are like you are going through a TSA line.  That alone makes that club suck.

Saturday nights:

If you are going out in the Castro area on Saturday I recommend Mezzanine for the  circuit crowd and Badlands for the drinking and dancing crowd.  Then there is the EndUp for early in the morning.

Tuesday night – Tranny night at Stud Bar.  This was quite a night that gave San Francisco a different taste than any other city.  It was so much fun because there were so many short shows put on by different drag queens that were very creative and fun.  Be prepared to be stuffed into this small bar where you cannot get a drink or move to goto the bathroom.  The people were rather jerks if you wanted to come back from the bar or from the bathroom from the spot that you previously had.  I guess there is no movement allowed during the Tranny show at the Stud Bar.

Other Castro Bars:

Metro City Bar & Grill (3600 16^th Street @ Market) – fun bar with a view and a nice revolving crowd.

I researched online intensely when booking my stay in San Francisco. There are many areas that you can stay in which are considered the best gay friendly hotels since it’s an openly gay and liberal city. My favorite hotels are normally closer to the clubs since that is where my travel takes me. There are many districts in San Francisco including Fisherman Wharfs, Golden Gate Park, Union Square, and the Castro district. You can get deals at hotels from TravelZoo.com at hotels like the Kensington Park Hotel - San Francisco near Union Square.

I stayed at the Inn on Castro which is a nice Victorian looking building on the outside facing Castro and States street. The Inn on Castro featured no parking unless you wanted to walk up and down a steep hill on States street which did not seem like fun to me. There is also parking down the street on 14^th street but make sure you move your car when the street sweepers come by or during Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm there is NO WHERE to park in the area. And I mean there is NO WHERE to park during the Monday through Friday business hours./p> The Inn on Castro (innoncastro.com) severed up a free breakfast and had free Wi-Fi but the Wi-Fi had problems when I was staying there. There are also some strange electrical problems at the hotel as well where the fuse went out in the bathroom making the lights and outlets go out until they could reset them. The small Inn is close to the clubs in Castro so you can walk around drunk from the gay bars being a great convenience.

You may also rent out a flat near the Painted Ladies or rent out flats (vrbo.com) if you have a big group of friends coming in town to party or vacation with you. Other hotels you may consider that are close to the gay clubs:

• Ramada Inn at 1231 Market Street with $25 parking (was around $135 a night)
• Hilton - 333 O’Farrell Street, $45 parking
