True Colors Tour Could Get Britney Spears Finale

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

This is the year of the rain, fires, and drama to the max.  We mentioned that one of the greatest diva’s Mariah Carey will be opening for Mighty Weekend in Paris, France.  This is the same night I plan to attend Gwen Stefani live in Reno, Nevada.  We have third row to Gwen before I knew about Mariah Carey at the France Disney Land.  Just as I was thinking how I would love to be in two places at once comes another announcement from People magazine.

This started out as a rumor but it may be actual fact now that its published in People and some other publications.  The rumor started out that Britney Spears is hiring male backup dancers for a special, surprise appearance at the HRC True Colors Tour with Cyndi Lauper.  The story now is that Britney will use her female dancers for the show and perform her new song.

The final leg of the True Colors Tour will be held at the Greek Theatre located in Los Angeles, CA.  If Britney Spears shows up it will make it an even spectacular event with already high profile performers including Erasure and Cyndi Lauper.  The host includes Margaret Cho and possibly Rosie O’Donnell. There will also be a special appearance with Jeffree Star.

If this happens this Saturday it will definitely be one of the most exciting last minute additions to a concert tour in years.  It will also be great to see Britney Spears support the HRC and the gay and lesbian audience attending the event.

Concert Tickets for this final True Colors event sold out in less than one day since the Brittney speculation began. It may be hard to get tickets but there are many sites like CraigsList.org, Ebay.com, and others that may have these last minute seats.

Mariah Carey to Perform Gay Event in Paris

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Here is some Paris news that has nothing to do with Paris Hilton but one of the bestselling female artists of all time.  Mariah Carey will be headlining the One Mighty Party in Paris, France on Friday, June 29th.  The event’s promoter Johnny Chisholm announced on press releases and emails sent out today.  “Mariah Carey is a worldwide musical superstar and we are thrilled to host her at our party,” said Chisholm.  This is the first year of the “gay days” party in Europe and it looks like it will be a huge success.

Mariah Carey will make an exclusive performance at the One Mighty Party in Disneyland in Paris.  She is set to perform six dance floor remixes.  It is exciting to see such a talented super-star performing at a gay event.

Not only will the event feature high profile DJ’s but it will give to a great organization.  Chisholm’s events have generated sizeable contributions to its beneficiary organization, the non-profit Elton John AIDS Foundation (www.ejaf.org).

Tickets to see Mariah Carey are set to go on sale at ticketmaster.co.uk starting June 12th.  Tickets are expected to sell out fast.

I looked all over the website at OneMightyWeekendParis.com and could not find any information on the other events with all the DJ’s listed.  I assume the party is a one-day long event compared to the weekend-long event held in Orlando.

This year One Mighty Party Paris will transform The Disneyland Resort Paris at 9pm with two large dance floors in Discoveryland and Frontierland. Attractions will be open throughout the entire Disneyland Resort Paris. The Gay Days Paris event will also feature other special performances and four world-class DJs, along with a special fireworks display over the Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant.  The evening will continue with a second event, Magic Journeys, located at the Disney Pavilion in Discoveryland from 2 AM until 6 AM. Two additional world-class DJs will provide entertainment for Magic Journeys.

Mayor Bloomberg Ruining NYC Nightlife?

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

We recently have learned that John Blair will be closing down his party at Avalon in the next month. Apparently, New York nightlife is undergoing serious changes due to pressures from Mayor Bloomberg. Just this last week we reported that Bloomberg’s office denied the license needed for the NYC gay pride festival.

New York City was once the hottest, high energy cities to visit for a good time at the clubs. The social scene in New York for gays and clubgoers has now taken an even lower level. Money spent in New York from gays and sophisticated tourists may soon drop once they realize how horrible a wreck Mayor Bloomberg is making out of the city.

What is there to do in NYC if there are no good clubs? NYC is taking steps backwards in the world while other cities are progressing ahead.

Peter Rauhofer has a party at Stereo for now but that will also come to and end soon. The building where Stereo Saturday’s is held will be torn down soon. The tourists and residents of New York City will soon find themselves in smaller, more humble clubs. There has got to be something done to save the scene in one of the largest cities in the world or this could eventually spread.
