We constantly hear rumors about the music legend and pop goddess Cher. This time it involves two oh-so-fabulous rumors involving mega-gay festivals.
A google search tipped off by a suspicious Facebook post this morning reveals a VERY interesting article posted a few hours ago by KIIS FM:
It’s almost like an Apple leak though because the story is mysteriously absent from the KIIS website! The excerpt from google is pretty detailed. It’s not like Cher has not played NYC Pride a few years back and has been a gay icon since the Sonny and Cher show. This will be the 40th anniversary of the Sydney Mardi Gras so they will absolutely have someone as big as Cher if not her. Continue reading Cher to Headline Mardi Gras 2018? The Legendary Parliament House in Orlando just announced their concert line-up for Gay Days Weekend 2017. Performances include Debbie Gibson, Macy Gray, and Keri Hilson.
Debbie Gibson is performing Friday night but that is also the biggest water theme park night aka Riptide at Typhoon Lagoon. Saturday night is not so big for the One Magical Weekend promoter as they have really dropped the ball on this year moving their event from one with a theme park with rides to one at a average concert venue in Disney. Your best best Saturday night is Parliament House with Macy Gray and the Footlight players. Sunday night is not to be missed at the Parliament House as Keri Hilson performs who is known for working with Kanye West and Ne-Yo with her hit “Knock You Down” and “Pretty Girl Rock”.

The Queen of Country Music Reba McEntire was not happy when she tweeted out loud about The Queen of Pop Madonna for being 2.5 hours late in Nashville, TN. It was not only Nashville but in Atlanta she was 3 hours “late”. Madonna also angered some drunk fans in Manchester, UK who the Daily Mail claims booed her before she took stage as she was about to go on with Michael Jackson’s song playing in the background. Many of us wonder why Madonna is “late” or is this an anxiety problem, technical difficulties, or even her laughing at everyone sitting there waiting. Below is a great explanation. I will tell you now she loves her fans and is the ultimate perfectionist.

You have by now maybe seen the headlines that Madonna called out at her fans for her being late to a show. While any of her real fans know that she is normally late to her shows or comes on around 9pm she did not come on until 10pm for this show due to technical problems. Although the headlines read that “Madonna calls angry fans ‘diva bitches’ after crowd booed. They would then go on to say that the crowd booed and they turned up the music to Michael Jackson to drown out the booing noise. That is also untrue. They always turn up the music during Michael Jackson “Gonna Be Starting Something” in each city the tour takes place because that is when they switch over to the louder speakers and move the sound to the main system to begin the concert.

In a news release Thursday, Madonna announced a list of new concert dates, including a January 14, 2016 stop at Tulsa’s BOK Center for her Rebel Heart tour. The Queen of Pop begins the new year on January 6 in Mexico City, followed by stops in San Antonio on January 10, Houston on January 12, before arriving in Tulsa on the 14th. We have a feeling she will add another NYC, LA, and Houston date as “time goes by so slowly” to her appearing in those cities!
No word yet on when tickets for the new concert dates will go on sale. Her first show for the new tour was last night in Montreal, Canada. We were watching the show last night on Periscope and it was simply amazing with lots of little monsters filming.
Jan. 6 — Mexico City, Mexico, Sports Palace
Jan. 10 — San Antonio, TX, AT&T Center
Jan. 12 — Houston, TX, Toyota Center (Southbeach Nightclub afterparty in H-Town?)
Jan. 14 — Tulsa, OK, BOK Center (Majestic Club afterparty in Tulsa?)
Jan. 16 — Louisville, KY, KFC Yum! Center (Will she stop in and say hi to Kim Davis?)

The MTV VMA’s were so much better this year than last years busted attempt at an awards show with a horrible host. The most talked about performances were Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga’s comeback, and the reunion of NSYNC or shall we say the Justin Timberlake concert. Our favorite moment was when Macklemore took home his award for “Same Love” that was an epic moment then he performed with Jennifer Hudson and brought us to tears.
Miley Cyrus on the other hand went a little crazy and the entire performance of hers seemed like it was not choreographed and either the sound was off or her voice was off that night. Lady Gaga also seemed to bring in a typical awards show performance or what seemed more like a magic show mixed in with broadway instead of what we expect from Miss Gaga who we had really hoped would do something more than her mime presentation.
There was also Katy Perry who MTV hyped up more than anything. Before every commercial break we would see her golden semi-truck and a teaser of her doing something crazy on the Brooklyn Bridge. At this point our expectations are high only to see that she copied straight from Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet tour. My least favorite part of the Queen’s Sticky and Sweet tour at that. Katy Perry tried to Roar while she was more redundant than Lady Gaga ever was… jump-roping, boxing, and they even copied the GAME OVER from Madonna’s tour. Why isn’t anyone talking about this? While it was a great performance it wasn’t that exciting to end the VMA’s with for all of the hype and Madonna did it much better at over 50. Madonna didn’t even had to jump rope for her dancers.
If you notice on the videos posted that the Sticky and Sweet tour had into the groove where Madonna jump ropes then she does the boxing segment with the short shorts during Die Another Day.
The funny thing is most of the Madonna fans who hate on Lady Gaga have turned to supporting Katy Perry. I do not understand why. While Katy Perry has had some great hits such as “Waking up in Vegas” she is nothing as exciting as Madonna nor has she put in the leg work into the LGBT fight like Lady Gaga has done for the community. “Applause” is a much better song with a sexier dance beat but “Roar” is custom made for top 40 radio so it will be successful and just another overly played generic song that we will all love. Perez Hilton has also declared war on Lady Gaga supporting Katy Perry but I doubt he will point out the “redundant” performance we witnessed Sunday night on the Brooklyn Bridge.
