Dance club charts for August and September 2009–

Madonna is #1 on our charts and was #1 on Masterbeat.  She also scores a #1 on the Billboard dance play for her 40th time setting an all time record. To top that off she just evened out the ranks with Elvis on the UK Album charts to score her 13th number one.

6. Miss You – Ron Perkov Demarko Powerhouse club mix

7. Hang On – Plumb Digital Dog Radio Edit

16. Release Me – Agnes

17. Sweet Dream – Beyonce

18. I Didn’t Know My Own Strength – Whitney Houston

19. Did You See Me Coming? – Pet Shop Boys

20. Body Language – Jesse McCartney

You will notice a few of the VMA all-stars on here. Also see that Jesse McCartney has a new song listed and he was recently seen by Perez with a female lady.  What is up with all these rumors he is gay.  Oh and speaking of the VMA and Jesse who did not appear at the VMA.. Taylor Swift nor Kanye made it on this list for this month anyway but we do appreciate Taylor’s music in the club it is especially hot when played in a circuit environment.  I am also excited to see Kanye and Lady Gaga live in a few cities if the concert ends up being as good as its hyped to be.

I was listening to Boys Town Live the other day and heard Angie Stone.  I had forgot about Miss Thangs she gave us some good music several years ago.  Where is she at these days?

Next month look for Madonna Revolver the song with Lil’ Wayne played all over the internet radio (probably not legally) but hey we love that song!  I can’t wait for the single to be released and the dance mixes come about!

DJ Seth Cooper on tour

Seth Cooper takes the Splash Days Tour nationwide
Some dj’s you probably can only hear once a year but this one is bringing the fun back to circuit parties. I will add him to my Calendar of Events page because he is by far one of the best DJ’s in the World. I first saw him playing a Gay Days pool party and now listen to him on G.I.R.L radio. Which stands for Gay Internet Radio Live one of the best stations next to BoysTownLive.com and 1Dance.fm.

DJ Seth Cooper recently played the Sky Lounge afterhours event for Splash Days. No one should have had any energy to move after 3am on Labor Day weekend’s Sunday night or Monday morning as you may call it but he energized the house like no other.

He is so juicy and plays such good music I should just post his schedule so we can stalk his hot butt. He plays Pridealicious in Raleigh, NC on September 26 with another upcoming show in Austin for OctoTea October 11th at the Long Center.

He will be in the “coolest” club in the U.S. on October 10. We may have to make it to Houston for this appearance at South Beach Nightclub. They normally have a Saturday night DJ that is not so great but Seth Cooper will keep the boys moving and drenched in that nice nitro freeze they have.
Ybor Tampa gets his show on Oct 17 for Surge at a venue called Czar.

Then Saturday November 21 the tour hits up one of the legendary club kid stomping grounds in the world (formerly Club One) Xcuses. If you are in Dallas that weekend make sure you check out the legendary DJ of Club One Ronnie Bruno Sundays at the Tin Room where you will see lots of hot dancers (they even have the old Club One logo above the DJ booth)!

Madonna Celebration #1 on MasterBeat Charts

Friday, August 7th, 2009

Madonna keeps her place at #1 on our charts with her new single “Celebration.” Remember, Masterbeat is the only site in the world you can get the single and anything from Warner Music Group in the full CD Quality lossless WAV format. Watch for the full remix EP coming soon to Masterbeat!

The new album is mixed with Paul Oakenfold which has remixes that Oakenfold says will be “breakthrough” music instead of just your normal retro mix.   We are excited to hear the whole

This week brings us new releases from Toolroom, Pacha, Ultra, Tiesto, Freemasons, Defected, Robbie Rivera and Anjulie. Check out the new exclusive “Forever Young” by Bill Bennett & Abigail, and join us in welcoming Music Plant Group and TWISTED Records to Masterbeat.

Here is our list of the top dance songs of Summer 2009

Summer Dance Music Countdown

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

We need a hangover sign to post when we take forever to write something on the blog or keep up with a monthly countdown.  Um too hungover to “F” with this today. Ok, so we skipped June which is like the most important gay month of the year because its Pride month and Gay Days month but I think I say that about every month.

June had some kick butt music so here is a list of May, June and July 2009 combined we will just call it Summer of 2009 Dance hits and keep it simple.  August 2009 will include more of what’s hot on the Euro Dance charts as we plan to spend most of that month in the hottest cities in the World.

What was hot in the Summer of 2009?

The Black Eyed Peas came back in a huge way despite Perez Hilton’s episode with Will.i.am.  The Boom Boom Pow and the I Gotta Feeling song are just huge then there comes out another song spinning out of the radio.  This is one non-stop cd but the beginning of the radio edit of Boom Boom Pow is sort of irritating on the actual album.  That’s why you buy all dance mixes!

The Summer started out with that blond haired diva.  No not Britney.  OK well actually Britney had a song or two but it was Lady Gaga and her Love Game, Disco Sticks, and diva fame that stole the show.  Deborah Cox came back with Beautiful U R and Kristine W rocked out with the Perry Twins.  And yes, we have been bad, bad boys all summer long!

1. Drop A House DJ DeMarko Featuring Heather Leigh West
2. Remember The Time – Michael Jackson (The Clivilles & Cole House/Club mix)
3. Waking Up In Vegas – Katy Perry
4. Be Alright – Kristine W (Perry Twinks Los Angels and Demons Radio Mix – Amazing remix!!!!)
5. Show Me Love Steve Angello & Laidback Luke Featuring Robin S. (You go Robin S!) (Afrojack short remix)
6. I Gotta Feeling – Black Eyed Peas
7. Battlefield – Jordin Sparks – Better get your armor because the “love game” really is a battlefield.
8. Bulletproof – La Roux – new music heard on satellite radio’s BPM – Lagos Boys Choir mix
9. Sing – Wynonna
10. Love Game – Lady Gaga
11. Please Don’t Leave Me – Pink (Digital Dog Club Mix)
12. Hush Hush – The Pussycat Dolls Featuring Nicole Scherzinger
13. Fire Burning – Sean Kingston (Somebody call 9-1-1) We have to love those fires burning on the dancefloors! Put out your cigarette’s bich’s.
14. Now I’m That Bitch – Livvi Franc
15. Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) Freemasons featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor (Club Mix)
16. Wanted – Jessie James (Jason Nevins extended)
17. Sweet Dreams – Beyonce (Harlan Pepper and AG III remix)
18. Give Me Love – Stephen Keyes vs. Cerrone (Warren Rigg club mix)
19. Goodbye – Kristinia DeBarge (DJ Bill Bouvier)
20. Love, Inc – Pet Shop Boys
21. The One (Freemasons Remix)
22. Express Yourself – Danny Verde & Phil Romano (Original Mix)
23. New In Town – Little Boots (Bimbo Jones Mix)
24. Patron Tequila Paradiso Girls f. Lil Jon (Stonebridge Club)
25. Don’t Upset The Rhythm Noisettes (Go Baby Go Baby Go – Dave Aude Club)

Future Music-
Jason Dottley from the Del Shores Sordid Lives show you fell in love with on the LOGO channel has a music release coming out in September.  I had the chance to see him perform live at Oil Can Harry’s in Austin and that boy can perform it was hotter than the Texas humidity. I hope he makes a big showing on the charts!  He told the Gay Party Blog that he has several remixes in the works from top DJ’s.  Stay tuned for the new music from this hottie.

New Mixes-
I Believe – The Absolute f. Suzanne Palmer (Ralphi Rosario Aggro Vocal)

Hot Ladies-
Madonna recently filmed part of a new video in Barcelona at one of her Sticky and Sweet concert shows.  She wanted everyone to dress up in 80′s and 90′s type Madonna gear.  This must be for something coming out of the Madonna camp for her final Warner Bros record which is supposed to be a greatest hits collection.  Actually, an update is that Madonna comes out with her new album September 28th Celebration – The Definitive Greatest Hits Collection including a song with Paul Oakenfold.

Worst DJ’s in the World

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

I am going to start this post up not as an insult to anyone but as a reminder that the club goers and customers are always right.  When no one is on the dancefloor or when everyone is complaining it is time to play better music or switch out the DJ.  I have traveled the world and am starting to learn that some clubs keep on some DJ’s no matter how they treat their customers or no matter that there are only 4 people on the dancefloor while everyone is looking for another club to cure their dancing before 2 or 4am.

Some DJ’s have major ego problems and that is fine if they are good.  They still should be nice to their regulars and potential newer groupies.  If the DJ’s suck then most likely the club will go under as a result.  The same goes for bartenders with attitudes.  I have seen many clubs fall under because the DJ’s will not please enough people or sometimes if they please too many people that can be bad.  Something in the middle is what works.

We try and remain a positive blog that contributes to the gay community but must point out negative things sometimes as much as we dislike speaking badly about anyone.  Just like Keith Olbermann points out the Worst Persons of the World we now will have a new segment (or blog post) called the Worst DJ’s in the World. Just so we do not sound mean or insulting we will list the nights that have the best music at the same club if there is such a night.

I have years of experience going to clubs and requesting songs.  If they do not play a song I do not hate them because I understand they have in their minds what they want to play that night.  But if they are not listening to the crowd and everyone has left they may want to change their minds on what they are playing and turn the music around some.  Maybe play that top 40 song. Um its top 40 or on the dance charts for a reason.. it’s what people are buying.  Of course, people who pay money to get into a club do not want to hear a radio edit of a song but there are mixes of everything.  I can’t stand too much hip hop or too much trance but good house music is what makes me move.  If the crowd is not digging it there has to be some backup mixes to throw their way to liven them up.

If you have been to a club or bar and have stories to share on this blog please do so.  We will accept your spam free comments.  Also, feel free to find out if that DJ is a billboard reporter and report that to us as well. If any of these DJ’s are Billboard reporters they truly need to lose their standing until they can perform at a nightclub.

#1 The Worst DJ in the World is DJ Jimmy Skinner (Billboard reporting DJ) Claims to play on Saturday Circuit nights at Southbeach (Houston, TX) but the circuit crowd I know stays dancing all night long and doesn’t RUN out of the club at 3am when the music really starts to suck.  He laughs at you when you request music and takes your money then never plays the song.  I asked several employees at the Southbeach nightclub in Houston and they all agreed that they have been hoping they would replace this guy. Southbeach in Houston was our favorite club in 2008 but this DJ will definately make it fall from that list this year as they messed up the Madonna party and have this jerk spinning.  My advice is to just put the damn speakers on Boystownlive.com and act like there is a dj back there… save the money from having to pay this guy and everyone loves the mixes on Boystownlive.

The website of the nightclub says he plays Progressive House Music and that is NOT what he is playing.

SAME CLUB, DIFFERENT NIGHT:  The Friday night DJ at Southbeach (DJ Tucker) will be in the top 10 on our Best DJ’s in the World.  He is truly amazing and deserves credit.

#2 Friday night DJ Alpyne (Krave Vegas): If you go inside you may hear songs that play partially and then goto the next song which is OK if it’s a countdown for New Year’s or at the end of the night but not all night long.  This can lead to headaches and rattled nerves.  Everyone ends up looking at each other saying they need a Xanax instead of a Vodka Rockstar.  I do not take Xanax but sure felt like I needed to call the doctor when this DJ was playing because the treble and bass were unequalized and the songs were all teases like a Promo CD instead of a dance mix.  The locals may be used to it but the visitors who I talked to who actually paid to get in were complaining about this. I love Krave but I will have to put the Friday night DJ as a night to avoid the place if they do not get this changed.

SAME CLUB, DIFFERENT NIGHT:  Saturday nights at Krave feature a DJ that is one of the best in the world – Morningstar.  You must see him live in action because he is great. If only he could spin there Friday nights as well but that might be too much fun!

Here you go these are two DJs above that are the worst but on opposite nights at these clubs you have the best.  Ironic?  Just a little.  These are my two favorite clubs in the US and my favorites of the World so that is why I have such high expectations of them to play the best music granted they both get World class circuit DJ’s there all the time.  But let’s raise the bar!

#3 Copa - Oklahoma City.  Not sure this guys name. Unless you want to hear Grease Lightning every time you go out hearing what is on the radio without a good remix.  He even messed up the remix of Lady Gaga Papparazi…really?  He is better than the DJ they had a a few years back who would have made it to #1 on this lucky chart but his music is not worth one shot of vodka.

SAME CLUB, DIFFERENT NIGHT:  LOL Same DJ. To hear good music you may have to stumble down the street to the Park or the Wreck Room or better yet just goto Tramp’s and have a big girl drink.

UPDATE: The Copa in OKC has since changed DJ’s and have improved the music. They are no longer playing the same CD that was repeating every weekend.

#4 HIRO Sundays NYC – The Cuckoo Club may be the nickname “where the boys are on Sundays” located in the Maritime hotel lounge. True it is a place to seen and be seen for some reason but the music is hideous.  The DJ played 100% Pure Love by Crystal Waters then went on to some tribal beat before and after. The music was so horrible I cannot even describe it.  It is a big club to have “lounge” music.  I was there with friends and they wanted to pay me just to leave.  I said no I will pay you because my ears are bleeding.  We did see Lance Bass out there but he was standing outside.  Maybe if I was drunk, high, or on 3 xanax I could take the music. haha.  I would recommend the Greenroom club/lounge a two-story place to party on Sundays with better music.

There are just thousands of DJ’s I cannot say anything wrong about. They keep the places hoppin’ and droppin’ and keep the queens a drinkin’.  There is less fighting at clubs that have good music, less drama, and probably less smoking.

This is the beginning of the list but I really hope it does not get longer.  Some people have bad nights but this is only for repeat offenders.  Email us or comment on the blog for us to get your message.  Gaysitedude(AT)gmail.com is how to contact us.

We are also working on the Best DJ’s in the World list coming out soon but that one is harder to make since there are so many.  I mean who could be number one on that list?  An international DJ, Circuit DJ, local bar scene guy.  So many DJ’s so little time.  Peace Love Unity and Respect!

Gay Days Theme Songs 2009

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

gay days pool party reunionIf you heard a certain song everywhere this weekend it was for a reason they were they hottest songs of gay days 2009. Most of the parties we went to this weekend in Orlando and in the Disney area had these songs playing…

We predicted that Love Takes Over by David Guetta would be the hottest song of Gay Days and it was but of course there was some other sick music being played:

#1 David Guetta – Love Takes Over w. Kelly Rowland

#2 Deborah Cox – Beautiful U R – This song sounds like Poker Face in the beginning but has that beautiful touch and love from Deborah.  Have no fear… Poker Face is on here too!

#3 Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow

#4 Whateva – Peter Rauhofer Remix (Whateva Whateva Whateva You Say, Whateva, Whateva, Whateva)  You can download this song on Masterbeat’s site.

#5 Lady Gaga – Poker Face

Lily Allen Says F* You!

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

I am just loving this new song form Lily Allen.  Actually her entire CD is packed full of goodness.  Her song about waking up in Vegas she sung on American idol.  She fully supported Adam Lambert as the winner of the popular show.  Maybe Adam Lambert and Lily Allen will be touring together next year after he has to fulfill the boring American idol concert contract. Lame lame lame.

This video is cool because some French youth got together singing and giving the bird to those haters.  Something Madonna started years ago giving the finger to the haters.  I bet Lily Allen will be high on the charts all Summer long!

Why is it that I cannot seem to add Lily Allen to Myspace. I guess she only wants her close friends on there but there is hundreds of thousands of them. I tried to add her as a friend and it said I had to enter her last name or her email. I suppose Allen is not her last name because it did not work. Kathy Griffin can you help me get on Lily’s D-List LOL.

Top 20 Dance Hit List April 2009

I feel like I say this every month that there is so much good music out there right now.  How ironic, I sound like a broken record. Fine I won’t say it this month but I am thinking it.  We have the re-mixes of old acts that have risen from the vinyl’s to digital such as Cher and Erasure.  This month the Perry twins also got accepted as Billboard reporters for the dance charts… that’s good news for us diva music fans.  April was an exciting month when it came to wicked events such as the White Party where Lady Gaga and a hot female dj stole the show along with the Perry Twins and Erasure’s Andy Bell!

  1. When Love Takes Over – Kelly Rowland mixed by David Guetta
  2. Love Game – Lady Gaga (Robots to Mars mix)
  3. Bad, Bad Boy – Perry Twins f. Niki Harris (DJ Escape & Dom Capello Club Mix)
  4. Spaceman  – The Killers (Tiesto)
  5. Beautiful U R – Deborah Cox (Yinon Yahel mix)
  6. Poker Face – Lady Gaga (Dirty Electro Mix)
  7. Always 2009 Remix – Erasure (Masterbeat exclusive)
  8. If You Seek Amy – Britney Spears (Flashlight Dance Remix)
  9. Boom Boom Remixed – Paul Lekakis (Boom Boom Boom let’s go back to my room so we can do it all night and you can make me feel right)  I remember a DJ once telling me this song was “too top 40” to play at the Wreck Room an afterhours club when they used to play a version on the radio back in the day.  Well its back biotches!
  10. Covergirl – RuPaul (Put the Bass in Your Walk) WORK IT!
  11. A Little Respect – Erasure Avantara Remix
  12. Love Sets You Free – Escape / Coluccio Club Mix
  13. Come Back To Me – Utada (Tony Moran) Also like the Seamus Haji mixes of the song
  14. Wrong – Depeche Mode (Alexander One Electromix)
  15. Boom – (Bimbo Jones Radio Edit)
  16. If U Leave – Musia Soulchild f. Mary J. Blige (Mig Vs. Rizzo Club Mix)
  17. Love Struck – (Tracy Young)
  18. Beautiful – Akon – (Tracy Young Monster Club Mix):  You realize it was Akon who helped discover Lady Gaga.  His entire album is amazing and is a must buy.
  19. My Life Would Suck Without You – Kelly Clarksen
  20. Day ‘N’ Nite  Kid Cudi  (Crookers Mix)
  21. Halo Beyonce
  22. Faxing Berlin – Deadmau5
  23. We Made You – Eminem: Even if you dislike Eminem you have to love this video and the beat is catchy.
  24. Don’t Trust Me (Shussh girl …. Do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips)
  25. Love is the Look – Kristine W: Word has it that Diva Kristine W has a new song coming out soon. We cannot wait to get our hands on that!

You might listen to KISS FM in your city or even listen to XM or Sirius Area or BPM or even the fierce Boys Town Live station online.  You might want to know that the Gay Internet Radio Live now has an I phone application you can listen to dance tunes and get the mixes from your iTunes or better yet click our Masterbeat link and buy the music!

Is it me or is the Jamie Foxx Featuring T-Pain song Blame it just not that great of a song.  I mean I expect something more from Jamie Foxx than that.  I thought he did a great job on American Idol the other night even though his advice got Matt Giraud kicked off of Idol.  Well maybe nothing could have saved Matt from Adam Lambert.  The Blame It song is just weak for Jamie Foxx’s talents though and the remixes just do not make good for club music.

As for hip hop music Flo Rida’s remake of a retro song Right Round is a fun song to dance to but did not quite make it in our top 20.  Soulja Boy Tell ‘em Featuring Sammie Kiss me Thru The Phone is also a great song for some hip hop grinding.  I could not stand Soulja Boy last year when every club including gay clubs played it continuously to no end but after seeing the new video I am starting to like him more.

The Rainbow Pilgrimage

Looking over the top 100 chart-toppers on the Billboard charts I noticed an advertisement that we talked about before on this blog from NYC trying to gain gay tourists.  I found it strange it was listed on The Billboard Hot 100 chart since that is a mainstream chart or are somehow know it is a gay person viewing their website.  There is no way they could know that so I am sure they are just throwing up this ad on a music site that mentions some gay favored artists I imagine.
