Congrats to one of our favorite girls in the world who used to have pink hair. Pink makes it to the number one spot on the Billboard 200 and digital download charts making it a first ever for the blond diva. This is Pink’s sixth studio album, The Truth About Love, which debuted at #1 in 7 countries around the world selling over 1 million units. This is Pink’s first US debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and second #1 debut on the Digital Albums Chart marking a personal first week best selling over 280,000 units. The album is the 3rd highest selling debut this year behind Justin Bieber and Madonna. The album also tops the iTunes album charts at #1 in 20 countries and #2 in the US. We have always thought that Pink is one of the most underrated artists of our time. She not only puts on amazing concert performances but she never gets the awards or sales that she deserves. That may be turning around with this album.
Pink kicked off promotion with performances of her lead single, “Blow Me (One Last Kiss) at the 2012 VMA’s, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Today Show, The View and The Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart and the iHeart Radio Festival this past weekend with No Doubt. The single is currently #1 at Top 40, Hot AC and Hot 100 Airplay Chart and is #9 on the Digital Songs Chart. Watch out though because Christina Aguilera is on your tail with her new “Body” single.
The Associated Press says, “Pink has another winner with Truth About Love” while Entertainment Weeklygrades the album an A and claims, “Pink may be the best lyricist in pop music.” People Magazine rated the album with 4 stars and raves, “The Truth About Love may be her best – and realest – effort yet.”
