Gay Pimp’s Sexting Video

Jonny McGovern aka the Gay Pimp is back and this time he is bringing to our attention the real issues at the club. The thing you see everyone doing at a concert, eating lunch, driving, and dancing or grinding (literally not Grindr) on the dancefloor. In case you are not aware of Jonny McGovern he started in 2003 with “Soccer Practice” and “Lookin’ Cute/Feelin’ Cute”. “Soccer Practice” music video made Jonny an international phenomenon when it received over three million downloads and was added to the rotation on MTV Europe and MTV Asia. The Gay Pimp has also appeared on the LOGO network.

It is just hysterical that someone is just now pointing this out. When you look around at gay clubs or any club you see people texting or on Grindr all night long instead of meeting real, live people. Everyone has to be half way in the virtual world and not even enjoy the club these days. If you are out and get bored by a song you can just go in another world and forget where you are for a few minutes I guess. If you don’t see a guy you like at the club you can get on GRINDR and meet someone else instantly. Of course only after trading a million pics and wasting your whole night that you COULD have been spendi8ng meeting people out of the fake virtual world.

I am ever so thankful for the Gay Pimp for bring this issue out and making fun of it at the same time. Enough of the sexting or texting on the gay dancefloors already. Let’s feel the music and dance people. The video is one of his best works and will for sure be a huge hit like “Soccer Practice”. Jonny McGovern is sort of like our version of Weird Al (in the comedy sense) but not as creepy he is fun and a socialite. He should have had his own show on LOGO-TV before they went mainsteam.

THE GAYEST OF ALL TIME marks his new eleven-track album featuring brand new comedic ditties by everyone’s favorite Gay Pimp Daddy, Jonny McGovern. The album includes the popular club hits “Dickmatized” and “Sexy Nerd”, as well as Jonny’s next sure-fire faggity smash, #TOTDF aka “Texting On The Dancefloor”.

“When creating the album, especially the title track, I imagined what it would be like if, as the lyrics say, ‘every single gay in all the world got together for a day on the biggest, gayest dance floor’,” explained Jonny McGovern from his home in Los
Angeles. “One day where we all cast aside our differences, shined rainbow bright and reveled in the glory of our gayness. I wanted the CD to embody that.” “It is my most polished record ever,” he continues. “My producers (Adam Joseph and
Los Angeles-based newcomer, Markaholic) and I worked hard to combine strong beats and melodies with sophisticated comedic elements.” – Jonny McGovern (gay Pimp)

“Modified” and Jonny’s new release, #TOTDF aka “Texting On The Dancefloor”, are not about sex at all. They are funny commentaries on the times we live in.

“I came up with #TOTDF aka “Texting On The Dancefloor” standing in the middle of a dance floor in LA,” explains Jonny of the song he co-wrote with producer Markaholic. Billy Butler directed the music video. “Looking around, I saw all these guys rockin’ to the music while texting on their phones! It made me think how people will gather in big groups but spend time on their phones reading a blog, checkin’ out their Grindr, tweeting and tagging people they are with on Facebook. #TOTDF celebrates all that and also mocks the insanity of it.”

Jonny admits to loving his phone and computer as much as the next guy. “But long gone are the days we can pretend we weren’t home to get a call or email ‘cause every message is sent right to the phone in our pockets.” The same is true for hooking up. “The constant availability of sexy gentleman is certainly convenient but it’s taken a toll on gay nightlife. People used to have to go
out to meet people. Now you can order dick right up to yer front door and never have to actually go out and talk to anyone.”
Jonny “The Gay Pimp” McGovern’s career began in The overwhelming success of “Soccer Practice” landed Jonny as a commentary
contributor on a variety of VH1 shows including Best Week Ever, Totally Gay, and 40 Dumbest Celebrity Quotes. It also earned him a slot on Comedy Central’s all-gay stand-up show Out on the Edge, hosted by Alan Cumming, which brought him to the attention of Rosie O’Donnell, who cast Jonny as a lead player on her LOGO-TV comedy show, The Big Gay Sketch Show.

In 2006, Jonny returned to the music studio with THIS IS NYC, BITCH! THE EAST VILLAGE MIXTAPE, a Team Pimp record he executive produced and contributed several original songs to, including the smash, “Somethin’ for the Fellas (That Like the Fellas)”. The music video for the song held the top spot on LOGO-TV’s Click List music countdown show for 14 consecutive weeks. In late 2007, Jonny unleashed hissecond solo album, GAYS GONE WILD, followed by 2008’s KEEP IT FAGGITY: THE GAY PIMP REMIX PROJECT, 2009’s THE LEGENDS BALL: EAST VILLAGE MIX TAPE 2, and 2010’s GAY PIMP. THE GAYEST OF ALL TIME continues Jonny’s journey into the fabulous fairyland where queens rule, glamour is celebrated, every street is a runway and every corner a dance club. It was made possible by donations from fans who raised over thirteen thousand dollars for the project.
