Gay Spas / Bathhouses are changing things up lately now that the pandemic has taken a toll on some of their regular clientele. Some unspeakable things such as letting trans or drag queens is are now allowed in some gay spas and some are offering extreme kink nights or free nights for under 25.
The Crew Club, the D.C.-based men’s spa held a reopening celebration this past weekend after being forced to temporarily close due to restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an effort to appeal to a younger demo, the club informed visitors on its website that 18-to-24-year-olds would be granted free entry (includes a locker), while other patrons would be offered single-day memberships of $38 for a locker, $46 for a small private room, and $50 for a large private room.
The Crew Club is abiding by the D.C. mayor’s mandate requiring masks for indoor spaces. Masks must be kept on in public areas, and all visitors must show proof of vaccination to enter. This is the same situation or similar at Steamworks in Chicago where they offer a college boy night on Tuesdays with free entry and also require masks and vax card.
On its Twitter feed, the Crew Club said that 763 patrons had visited the spa, with 273 on Friday evening, and Saturday was the Crew Club’s busiest night. About 15 to 20 percent of patrons were aged 18 to 24, according to a tweet from the Crew Club’s official account.
Some are calling it ageist and not happy about the marketing to younger guests while others pay more. Others are saying it provides more entertainment and discovery for those that have paid high prices to enter and gains new hopeful customers who would’ve never thought about going to a gay bathhouse.

A “soft launch” was held from 4 p.m. Friday, August 20 through 8 a.m. Monday, August 23, with The Crew Club touting hundreds of patrons over the weekend.
Located at 1321 14th Street NW, The Crew Club said it would be open on subsequent weekends for similar hours until a full-time schedule could be determined.
In an effort to appeal to a younger demographic, the club informed visitors on its website that 18-to-24-year-olds would be granted free entry (along with a locker), while other patrons would be offered single-day memberships of $38 for a locker, $46 for a small private room, and $50 for a large private room.
Each paid membership lasts six hours, with visitors permitted to purchase an additional six hours, with a total 12-hour limit.
Plans for allowing visitors to purchase longer-term memberships, or how to deal with people who had purchased longer-term memberships prior to the COVID shutdown, were not mentioned on the website. All transactions are currently cash only.

Some Twitter gays are already planning to film content for OnlyFans and taking advantage of the free nights. They are posting about glory holes, slings, and dungeons that are great for porn content.
The Crew Club is Located at 1321 14th Street NW in the nation’s capital while Steamworks is located in the middle of Boystown in Chicago. Check your local spa to see if you get in free and the theme for that night! While most do not bother to update their social media you can Google their website directly.
It’s not always free though with some spas. According to the Tampa Men’s Club in Florida they have a “Boy Tuesday.”
