Update: “Gay Days Orlando” is back!
Sources close to the planning teams have confirmed that GayDays 2026—which would have marked the event’s 35th anniversary—has been canceled, though no formal announcement has yet come from the official GayDays organization. Staff who were preparing for the event at the DoubleTree host hotel indicated that those specific festivities will not occur this year. This feels like 2020 all over again with Tampa Pride and prides across the United States being canceled.

At the same time, One Magical Weekend is still moving forward with its popular weekend lineup at the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista, including the iconic RIPTIDE at Typhoon Lagoon. These events have long run parallel to GayDays and will once again anchor Orlando’s early-summer LGBTQ+ celebration scene.
The cancellation comes amid broader concerns about U.S. tourism in 2026, which has seen a noticeable downturn tied to international travel hesitation and high-profile political arrests involving ICE. Orlando’s tourism industry, typically buoyed by major Pride and theme-park events, has not been immune to the slowdown.

Still, LGBTQ+ nightlife in Central Florida remains active. Southern Nights Orlando and several other downtown venues are expected to host Pride-related parties throughout the season. There’s also cautious optimism surrounding the anticipated reopening of the Parliament House, which could inject fresh energy into Orlando’s queer nightlife by later this year.
This is sad news to us as we were planning on booking a room at the Doubletree and staying at that host hotel while going to some of the circuit events because the Doubletree had longer pool hours with some of our favorite local and international DJs. Hopefully they will be back for 2027 or figure out a way to combine these events with the OneMagicalWeekend events. We recommend they put both host hotels next to each other but perhaps they did not want to work together as promoters like they did years ago back with Johnny Chisholm ran things for One Mighty Weekend.
While GayDays 2026 may be taking a pause, the spirit of the celebration—and the community’s resilience—remains firmly in motion.
